I'm an aspiring turkey hunter. Does that count? We've put in for tags for the last 2 years, but haven't drawn yet. Just building up preference points.

Turkey hunting is my third favorite sport right behind upland birds behind my dog and ducks. Where you from. A lot of hunters come to Oklahoma from all around just because you can buy tags over the counter.

Yep. Soon to get out again. Got thousands of them car painters around my place. I also have a cousin in the verdigree area that will let guys hunt he has so many it is like an infestation. I live in Iowa so I dont hunt there anymore but my other brothers and cousins do.

This will be the 4th year in a row that our group has been picked. This will be the first year for my g/f to go. That alone should make for an interesting year.

I haven't been skunked yet. I counted 43 turkeys last night next to where I normally sit.

I've hunted them a couple of times in the past, without success. I was calling in a gobbler on one occasion when a truck came down the trail (which was suppose to be closed) and spooked him off! I was never so angry in all my life! I called the DNR to report the A**hole, but they did nothing....gave them detailed description of the vehicle, license plate, ect......glad to see my license dollars working so hard for law enforcement!

My buddy and I got drawn for opening week here in MI.....hopefully I will be able to tag out using my home brewed 16 gauge buffered turkey load that was two years in the making!

I turkey hunted 25+ days last year between AL and TN. Not quite on that pace this year, but will still get after them several mornings a week.

I filled my tag at 0624 this morning. Today was opening day, and I found a tom that was in a hurry to die. His beard is over 10 inches, and his spurs are about 1 1/4". :D

My season (five days in Wi.) starts the 23rd. Got the secret weapon this year, "Pretty Boy". Funny, every year we're out there before daylight and rarely kill a turkey before 9:00 A.M. May try the "sleeping in" strategy this year.

Sounds like a good bird!

You only get one tag? Man I wouldn't know what to do if I was limited to one tag. Between hunting 2 states, I have 9.
