Log book tips...

Post by MTO4Life » Sat Jul 26, 2008 1:33 pm

I'm new to the pointing dog field, and am looking for some advice. I hear many people talk about going back in previous year's log books to see conditions, number of birds killed etc. My question is this. What information should go in this 'log book'?? I think it is a good idea, but am not sure how to proceed on it. Also, are there books already out there where you just 'plug in' the required info? Thanks....

You may get some ideas from the online log linked in my "signature" below. Though it's for waterfowling, the principles are much the same. In the past, without the public commitment to do a more thorough job, my logs have degenerated to little more than score cards. But for me, the memories invoked by the "Kudos," "Curses" and "Photo Op" sections included in this one have proven much more valuable than the data collected, and I expect to lean more in that direction next season.

Best of luck with it.
If you think I'm wrong, you might be right.

I thought I had showed you one I had purchased when you were over at the house MTO4Life.
I purchased a log book from Cabela's last year for keeping track, and plan to use it this upcoming season.
