Last Ruff hunt 08 Photos

Post by Ruffshooter » Mon Dec 22, 2008 9:14 am

Well, my Ruff hunting is now officially over. Normally we can hunt up to Dec. 31. Last night my favorite place that is close by got 30" plus of powder snow. This stuff is light. No Shoeing in this. I got a three hour hunt in on Saturday. Had to be at a darn Christmas party. (holidays are always in the way of fun). There was only a foot of snow. 2" crust then 8 or ten inches below it was 14 degrees and snow squalls while we hunted. Tranquillity, quiet, true wilderness. Perfect. The dogs went okay pretty well stayed up on the crust. I was beat at the end

We only found two birds, each of which were smarter than I. They let me go all the way around the firs they were in and waited till I could not shoot or see them. But Buster did some nice work and little C got to learn some. She was checking out the right places ranging out on her own.

Here are some photos of the area we hunt Enjoy. No birds just good memories.ImageImageImageImageImageImage

Nice Pic's. Sorry to hear about the grouse evasion.

I went out yesterday and we walked spur roads at 1500-2000 ft. in 6 inches of snow. Emma found lots of bones and a mole or shrew of some sort. That's about it.

They get bigger and smarter this time of year.

Hey There Tim:

Haven't seen too much of you lately. Hope all is well.

I appreciate the compliment. That was taken with one of the Kodak Cameras. Darn thing keeps sticking and won't keep up with movement.

Merry Christmas.

Great looking dog once again!

Tim,
Glad all is well. I know what you mean about the house. My girlfriend is trying to sell hers and it is just a small home. Just tire kickers so far, been three months.

Good luck.

Take Care.
