Takin a gettin-away trip

I've about run my mind nuts lately and I've decided I'm going roadin with a Rocket, my Beretta 391 and my Sprinfield XD (burglar alarm system).

Anyway I think I'm gonna head through Northern IL towards the quad cities area (60 miles southwest).

If I wanted to head for Kansas instead where would I know where to go hunting? I've heard there is a bunch of new ground in a CRP program that is open access.

Birdhunter,

If you want to give Kansas a crack, call the Kansas Wildlife and Parks and ask for a Walk-In Atlas or you can print it off on-line. There is a lot of public walk in ground in Kansas. The atlas maps are very easy to follow.

We were out for the pheasant opener and saw a decent amount of birds and some very large coveys of quail this year. Most of the grounds we hunted this year was CRP. It seems that this year there was more CRP fields than in years past.
