Check the weather, I have a dog out there with a buddy of mine. I talked to him Sunday evening and he said the snow was too deep to work the dogs, They were just hunting with standers, and flushing to them. They are in the South east just below Iowa City. He talked like it was 12 to 14 in. plus...... Talked like they would not see any melt off before they return on Thursday....."pear"

Any updates on the hunting conditions in IA??

With all of this warm weather, has the snow pack melted to a uslable level?

I would sure like to get out one more time this year.

Regards,

Rob

Hey, I use to live in Iowa--never hunt as far southeast as Rathbun, but did around Red Rock--most of my success came over towards Winterset, Creston, St. Charles areas if you were looking for both quail and pheasant.

As you work you way north up I-35 towards Des Moines--success can be found east on I-80 around Baxter, Newton, Marshalltown, Bondurant.

West on I-80 and north to Polk City, Story City, Ft. Dodge.

This was a few years back just to let you know. Always had the best success in South Central along I-35.

My friends will hunt around Grinnell and Mt. Pleasant as well....
