I have to go to NE Nebraska to pick up a puppy this weekend. So I figure that I'm gonna be close to SD, so I'm gonna use the second part of my license by trying some walk in west of the Yankton area. Am I wasting my time there? Is there somewhere better that's within a couple of hours of that area?
This is a last minute trip that I wasn't expecting to take, but I'd like to take advantage of it. I'd appreciate any help I could get. Feel free to pm me if you want to.
Thanks, Doug

Re: Roosters in SE South Dakota?
Hate to be the one to tell you but you are probably wasteing your time in eastern SD.
Bird numbers just aren't very high until you get west of Yankton about 60 miles or so.
You are down to just a few weeks so I guess you could give it a shot unless you think you have time to go further west.
Good luck!

I don't know that area.
If you put a post on The Refuge Forum under the South Dakota Flyway section I bet somebody can give you good advice.

I'm always happy when I make it thru another bird season with my dogs, my gun and my truck.
It's an added plus if I manage to keep my wife, my house or my job.
