So my pup will hunt around anyone that has a gun. I try not to speak to him alot in the field and don't use an e-collar. He is very good when him and I are alone but when others are around he will start to hunt around them as well, sometimes even leaving me and sticking with the group. He is only 9 months and has only 2 hunts under his belt. So, my question is, how do I keep him from going off and hunting around others and stick to hunting for me? I am not sure if this is a maturity thing that he will grow out of or do I need to work with him.
Thanks in advance,
George

Mine done that when she was younger, then grew out of it, started to look for me in the field;
when someone else shot a bird she would allway's bring it to me.
I think she will grow out of it.

Re: pup hunts with anyone
Sounds like a "Good Problem".
Pup must have plenty of desire.
I would think with only 2 hunts behind him he is still figuring out
who the boss is & just what is expected of him. If you hunt him more
he should associate you with the good things in the field & recognize
you are the boss & his partner. If you drop some birds for him he should
turn on more & figure it out. I also would as much as possible ,try to hunt him alone /
where there are no crowds to distract him from you.
