pups first hunt

Post by bowhunter1221975 » Mon Jan 10, 2011 8:01 am

took my pup out yesterday with my 14 year old son and buddy (Ross) with his GSP and my male EP and my new AA EP female
who is only 7 months we started out with her on a CC after 2 hours with no birds we made it doown to a small creek were my male went on point i flushed a small covey of quail 3-4 with my booy and the pup behind me 30 yards i shot my male a bird down and to my surprise the pup tore off past me to beat my male to the downed bird pulling my son in tow she grabed the bird ran around for a few min like she had just found the best thng ever and with almost no prompting she deliverd it to my hand

i just had to share this with everyone
Thanks

Bowhunter,
Looks like the pup is going to be a natual retriever, a trait well worth passing on!
