Hunting at 13...

Post by Byrdgirl » Fri Dec 30, 2011 8:18 am

I keep a blog on our hunting adventures with our GSP. Yesterday my boyfriend guided a hunt for a friends 13 year old son. The 7th grader has had some amazing hunting opportunities and I thought this would be a great place to share what he has gotten to do along with some impressive pics! Check it out.

The big game hunts in Africa, do these animals need to be thinned out for population control? Or is this just a case of people wanting to kill the biggest animal possible? Not hating just curious. I have never seen the sport in the killing of most large game. I would never go bird hunting if it wasn't for the dogs such as one of them big pheasant shoots. SCKWEST

I not sure, but I know in the states we raise pheasants and quail for preserves to hunt. Its not necessary however it is enjoyable, lets not turn on ourselves. I love hunting behind dogs, however I love the big pheasants drives to, my grand father talked about pheasant drives and rabbit drives they did in the 40's its tradition. For most people hunting is a sport, rather hunting for birds or putting a trophy whitetail rack on the wall, its all fine with me.

I agree to some point, but isn't a zebra basically a wild horse and one of those other animals I'd have to look at the pic again looked like a bull. SCKWEST

Put a pheasant in a bag and swing it around then shove it in some grass, what is that like? Some people hunt game farm birds and if they enjoy it, I'm all for it. Some people hog or deer hunt over a feeder, or hunt shoot ducks at sunup on small ponds, I'm not sure if that is easyier or harder than hunting Zebras. Shooting a pheasant over a pointing dog isn't the greatest challenge in the world, however it is a great sport.
