Which Beeper?
Which beeper collar would you reccomend for hunting thick grouse cover in the northeast? I want a stand alone beeper, not one thats activated by a transmitter. I dont have the best hearing so will need one with some volume. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Having hearing issues as well, once the ATS ceased production, I went with the Llovett Low Tone.
Volume is not always the issue that wavelength of the beep is.
It is best to fit and try by listening to several in the woods, I have found, as we all lose hearing differently...as well as the cover and conditions we hunt can make a difference.
We all hunt thick ruffed grouse cover, time to time.
Top mounted beeper may be a help with some of these other, newer beepers....may help the dog to a small degree as well but, that is not much of an issue.
Consider the Astro in addition.

I really like the Cabelas beeper only. I do not know if they still make it but I have two and have had them over 6 years a piece. And to make them softer or not so loud a piece of electricians tape works great.

Lovett's dual tone, I'm on my third one. I tried Tri-Tronics & couldn't find the dog. I kept walking the wrong way.
