South dakota DIY hunt

hello, im going to south dakota in october for opener with some friends, ive been there 3 times before. but this is my first year going with my own young dog. i have heard that the farmers have been cutting alot of the CRP grass making it a little tougher hunting. ive also heard hunting the minimum maintnece roads is the way to go now a days. havent been there for a few years. any tips would be greatly appreciated, thank you!
