Another trip to silver springs

Post by vartz04 » Thu Dec 27, 2012 12:26 pm

Just got back from my AM hunt with Ruger. This is his 3rd "real" time out hunting. Brought my dad along this time too.

First bird was a hen and he bumped it. Second bird he held a point long enough for my dad to flush it and i knocked it down. He retrieved it as well which was his first time doing this so the dead bird fetch game in the yard worked. 2nd bird was hen that he pointed and I flushed and dad missed. 3rd bird was a rooster dad flushed I knocked it down and he retrieved again (this was a really good point out of a 9 month old dog with no pedigree. got excited and didnt get a pic) 4th bird was a rooster, I flushed dad missed (see the theme).

I was really proud of the dog today. My dad needs to do some clay shooting though. Here is a pic of him and his good work.

That looks and sounds like a good day. I really like when an underdog, I am not trying to be offensive just saying not pedigreed does what it was born to do. That is awesome.
I'd rather live on the side of a mountain, than wander through canyons of concrete and steel.
