Had some kids over for a hunt Sunday. They had a blast.

We got up 1 covey of wild birds on the old fence row in the first pic. The rest were on release birds. This was the first time any of these guys had every bird hunted. Amazing to see kids facination with dogs. I let each one of them work the whistle too. I got a kick out of that as much as they did ( the dogs probably not so much

That is great we need the youth to understand why we love being in the field with dog's, It was not until this past year at the age of 35 that i finally was able to hunt some wild quail.You may have gave some of them the bird dog flu

This is way cool Tyler.
I've been asked to lend a hand and my dog to an upcoming youth hunt on 3/22 and I'm really looking forward to it.
We need to do more to draw the younger folks into these traditions or soon there will be no traditions

Nick your going to have a great time iam sure. There are a lot of kids that have experience with other hunting and shooting. Then you have the ones with neither. Getting these kids involved is a really great feeling. I commend you for volunteering for the youth hunt and would encourage everyone else to participate, even if it takes up a day or two of your own hunting.

I've also noticed in the past 5 years more women and young ladies getting into the sport, which is also a good thing!

Good for anyone who helps kids get addicted to something positive like hunting (of any kind). I'm a teacher and too often see kids gets addicted to the negative stuff.
