Elk Hunt '06 w/pics

Post by crittercontrol » Mon Oct 09, 2006 11:24 am

Sure its a bird hunting site...but you gotta diversify man!

What a weekend! After several years of not seeing a darn thing I finally connected.

The weekend started with a great elk camp. Sure it was a little tight, but we made do. My father is the one on the left, and our friend on the right. Quite a deluxe set-up!

Yours truly with my first Elk.

Characteristic bull for this area. Even has the funny front tines like many of the other elk we’ve shot in the area. Nothing too fancy, not real big, but I’ll take it!

Know what would have been funny if there was an elk in the background when your father was sleeping. I fell asleep deer hunting one time it was snowing and very cold and when I woke up there was deer tracks right in front on me.

Congrat's on the bull! I believe I see a Barnes XLC mushroom there.
I'm getting really good at elk hunting myself, Just not the finding and shooting part :(
