Ohio Woodcock Migration

Post by travel » Thu Oct 31, 2013 6:52 pm

Does anyone have their finger on Ohio woodcock migration?

I know this is coming up on the middle of the season but if anyone has a suggestion on how to track it or where to find them I would be all ears.

Planning on spending 3-4 days camping (intermittent through November) in Shawnee State Forest going for grouse and read that the Scioto River Valley was the best chance to find woodcock - can anyone validate?

Good luck with the grouse hunt ANYWHERE in Ohio! As for the woodcock, I can say we found quite a few around Chillicothe on Friday.
