Grouse Day and happy new year
I took my 3 year old GSP out to her on some grouse. First clear cut she jumped a bunny, no birds. Second clearcut about a mile away. Moved two birds and shot at a 3rd. Watched him land on the the right side of a creek about 60 yards away. Followed and Bella locked up tight on the deadfall. Couldn't see the bird and walked around a tree when the bird flushes. Came around the tree and took a shot in vain. No birds but a good training session for my girl

Sounds like a great day. Good looking GSP. Chip is 3 years old also.

Yes it was Mark. I live for those kind of hunts. My Bella has come into her own just this year. Much more confidence on point and covering ground!

I hunted for about 3 hours today temps was 30 when I started at 9:00AM. When I quit at 1:00PM it was 27. Flushed 4 birds that were grouped up, my GWP Lucy pointed but the birds didn't hold flushed out of range. Suppose to be -7 Sunday and Monday will be even colder not hunting tomorrow. Tough sledding today through 10" of snow. Good exercise, makes the beer taste good.posting.php?mode=reply&f=81&t=45269#
