It is possible for a good dog to be trained to do almost anything (within reason) including performing all kinds of tricks but I doubt this is what the OP had in mind.

I had a britt that was great at this. My last ES was fair. Looking back at their experiences, if I wanted to try and train this, I would work a big running dog downwind along fence rows. This would set up opportunities that they could transfer to broad fields. I admire it especially on a pheasant dog. I have held off on trying to reach this and flush on command to my curren dog till she got older but we are right about there now.

Simple answer: buy a humphrey's llewellin.

No training bills; dog instinctively knows more about hunting than 99% of the 'trainers' out there.

Sorry, but it is that simple.

I agree, most if not all dogs know more about hunting than we do. That is why trainers are teaching manners and not how to hunt. We purchase the ability to hunt when we buy a hunting dog puppy.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.
