Our nephew is starting a 2-year missionary role for the Church at University of North Dakota. He did not grow up hunting, but has always been interested. As a young adult, he's starting to feel his way into the shooting sports and knows that he's in the middle of bird hunting Heaven up there. He wants me to bring the pups and take him out in the field up there. I've told him to make friends with the local kids who hunt and learn what he can about where/when to go, but I thought I'd ask the gang here for my own education.
I'm not asking for you to give up your double-top secret honey holes, lol, but is there any intel/advice you can offer for an out-of-stater visiting that area for public land hunting? I believe phez, sharpies and Huns are all on the radar up there, the last of which I've never had the opportunity to chase.
Thanks in advance...

North Dakota has lots of Electronically Posted land for hunting.
Check it out at North Dakota Game and Fish Department.
Nonresidence can not hunt first part of the pheasant season.

If you want to hunt sharptails go in September or early October. If wait until after the pheasant opener it gets really tough, lots of wild flushes.
