This was some cover that actually had woodcock in it, most of the birds were found under or near the spruce trees though.

Rudi pointed and retreived quite a few birds, but it was too warm for more than a couple hours in the morning and an hour in the hot afternoon. Even then, it was almost too much as the dog was not in the best of condition.

We cut short my time there due to weather, Rudi was really whipped. I may take another trip now that we're rested and its cooled off.

Beautiful pictures, you look a little pooped in the tail gate shot :lol: .

Its been cool down here the last week or so and hot up there, how weird is that.

Nice looking dog.
currently two shorthairs, four english pointers, one Brittany, one SPRINGER a chihuahua and a min pin lol

I would rate the bird count as Grouse up a little, Woodcock about the same.
I was hot and tired on the tailgate shot. I needed a beer.. :lol:

That dog is in my avitar, nice family dog, works with me not way out. At 58 I am starting to really enjoy a dog that works a little closer.

You gotta have a good close dog for thick grouse cover. Thats why I am looking into getting a Brittany soon. My last pointer didn't turn out to be too close. Lost him 2 or three times for a long time.
