Last chuckar hunt in Utah
I went out last Saturday with my 3 dogs hoping to get into one last covey of chuckar. As it turned out, we only saw one covey and they flushed out of range. But I thought I'd share some photos for your consideration.
Sadie, my 9 mo. old surveying the territory.
Zoey, my 8 mo. old wondering where to hunt next.
Sadie and Zoey hunting together.
Typical western chuckar country - for all you grouse woods fellas
It's pretty big country too.
The end of a long day hunting - my wife snuck downstairs and took this. She says it's "cute"
This just about sums it all up...
Now it's on to field trialing and all that going into that.

We were actually west of Vernon and north of Delta, about 2 hours west of Provo in the Thomas Range. I guess I can say that since it really isn't "hot spotting" as we didn't get any birds. Altho' we saw a rather large covey flush wild.
The most amazing thing was the lack of snow. I have well over a foot in my yard so we took our snowshoes thinking we'd be in it deep wherever we ended up. As you can see, there was nothing. It's pretty fascinating how that works.
Down here it's mostly GSPs and Brits as well. There are only a small handful of other breeds that you see on a regular basis. They're nice dogs but I really can't get into their stubby little tails.

We give dogs time we can spare, space we can spare and love we can spare.
And in return, dogs give us their all. It's the best deal man has ever made.
