Very nice.

Thanks for getting the juices flowing. Heading up to an area NW of Grand Rapids next week. Can't wait. Unfortunately, it has been a long time since I was there so I can't think of any areas there that are as immature as the covert in your pics.

She is just a little over six months old and doing great. I watched Ozzie in the NA this fall, I really should of tested her, but will have to wait until next spring.

Here's my 8 month old pointer with her first grouse. I just happened to have a camera. If there's one picture you'd like it would be her first grouse point.

Every single grouse I flushed last week was in the firs/spruces along a hardwoods edge, with one exception that was in a beech sapling thicket.

The birds were chowing down on fern tips...

Couldn't be said any better. We flushed a bunch of birds on Saturday and all but 2 were on the edges.

How would you have mounted it? I have 2 fans from my Maine trip last year that I've never gotten around to mounting. I have two shadowbox frames for them, but just haven't figured out a good way to put the fans up that is sturdy but won't mess them up. They're spread out and dried really good - it's just the mounting part I have no clue about!

Nice pics all around, btw!

I used a Nikon D300 body with a 200-400 F4 VR lens.

Thanks!
