Montana 2008 pics

Post by NVgsp » Fri Oct 24, 2008 9:08 pm

my uncle, father and myself all went up to Montana to hunt pheasant, sharpies and huns. We had never hunted birds outside of Nevada, Cali or Oregon, so visiting Montana was extremely special. I took well over 100 pics, but decided that the following were pretty cool. Hope you all enjoy.

This is my grandfathers old Stevens 16 gauge that he left for my father after he passed. It was a pretty special moment for my father to bust a pheasant that his father used for the same thing in N. Dakota when he was a kid.

Doug the vest is perfect. It finally got some bird blood in it, after a year of being a virgin (not one friggin chukar last year!) A good friend of mine who is a guide at www.highlandhillsranch.com is using the same one and he puts over a thousand birds a season in a vest. generally they wear out after one season, but this Elite vest is the best he's ever owned. Thanks to you, atleast two people i know are enjoying the heck out of it.

here is a link to a video that my mom put together: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JEJBf3Ps ... ture=email
not sure why the pics are so grainy, but it looks like they were taken during the 1980's?.?.?. Doug, what software do you use for your videos?

still, pretty cool of her to do that for us. hope you all enjoy.

Yahhhh! Bravo!!! Very cool! Just got in from hunting and now I wanna head back out!!

I process my pics in Photoshop then use the Photoshop software to create the slideshows. After I get the slideshow the way I want it, I save the file as a WMV (Windows Media Viewer) in as high a resolution as I can. The first time I did one, I saved it with resolution optimized for web use and it looked grainy. So now, even though it takes longer, I save them with as high resolution as I can. Once I get it saved to a WMV, I just load it onto my Photobucket deal as a video. Works OK. There are better sites to host slideshows but you can't embed 'em in your post or, in order to view them, the viewer has to download software to their computer which is a hassle. I'm all for hassle free surfing.
