ND Sharptails

Post by NDBDHunter » Fri Sep 30, 2005 7:50 pm

Went out after work yesterday for an hour. Had 3 points and saw 12 or so birds. What a nice evening. Chance pointed 2 times in the first 15 minutes. I put him up and got the pup out. Samie pointed 1 loner and then, just as I was feeling good about her, she put her nose to the ground and trailed a big covey, pushed em up and watched em all fly away. Oh Well! I'm sure she'll come around:) There's lots of Sharptails out there. I've even shot several Huns so far this year over some nice points too.

Really nice evening. What part of ND are you in? We hunted around "bleep" area.

It has been a good year up here so far. Sharptails are in good numbers and the pheasents are also in execellent condition.

Brenda, one of these years we will have to try and get together when you come up, I would love to see your dogs.

Where are you located? Do you have snow now?

Bismarck which is the south central part of ND. 100 miles east of "bleep". We only got a couple of inches of snow which will melt quickly, the western part got 15+ inches, could raise heck with the birds.

Sorry Snips, I've been away for awhile.

I hunt around Michigan ND and south a little, it's about an hour west of Grand Forks on highway 2. There's plenty of birds around here. A person may have to work for them, but they're there.
