Yooper Late Season Grouse Hunt

Post by M1Tanker » Sat Dec 05, 2009 6:22 pm

It was cold and blustery up here today but the birds were out and sitting tight. A good day to get into the woods and let the chill sooth the soul.

Moved 15 birds in 3 hours of hunting...one of my better days this year.

Baron and his son Panzer now have a hard act to follow after today.

Where are you at up here? One of my very good friends has a shorthair named gunner who looks a lot like that! Glad to here you're putting birds up! We just cooked up some grouse tonight

I was out here in MN. today. Had one point (only hunted an hour or so). The dog was pointing so I walked on in about 15 yds. ahead of the dog. The grouse tore out of a pine tree behind two more pine trees about 10 yards away. I did not even get to see the bird just branches moving. Been that way here for a couple weeks now. Birds are very wild.

Glad you are having some luck and something to cook.
