I have an opportunity to hunt near Beaver City next year on private land. Does anyone hunt close to that area How is it for quail and pheasants

Don't know the place. SW is probably a little thinner on quail. BUT Does it really matter?? You get an offer to hunt private ground anywhere in Nebraska you jump on it.Then say Thank You.Go find out that is part of the fun.

Around Beaver City there are a few creek bottoms that will hold quail, further east you go the better. Pheasant numbers aren't as good as they thought they would be this year but many people are blaming the corn still in the fields, most of the farmers are only about 1/3 done with harvest. Habitat was absolutly perfect as well as weather conditions for pheasants. If you are on private ground you will manage to find some birds easily enough. Be sure to go later in the year or you might run into the problem of uncut fields around like this year.
