Oklahoma Panhandle Quail Hunt

For those who may have an opportunity to hunt quail in the panhandle this year, quail numbers are great. We were able to move 24 coveys in 2 days of hunting with a couple of coveys having up to 40 birds. Pheasant crop looks good too but won't open until Dec.

The ditch parrots are absolutely thick near SD numbers in several areas. Many hunters were griping about the dogs wasting time on them at the diner opening day in 27 years hunting there I have never seen them that thick. The quail are good but in all honesty not as good as last years population was, last year we put up 19 coveys opening day in just 4 hours this year we put up 29 coveys in 12 hours over two days. Still enough to make many hate us poor Okies though
