Wrappin' It Up

Post by DGFavor » Wed Jan 27, 2010 12:37 pm

I've got one more day to get out hunting this season but I'm done luggin' the camera around - think I'll actually just go out and try and shoot somethin' for real. Wasn't the best year ever but we had some fun and got the dogs out to do their thing.

Overdid it on the picture taking as usual but makes for some good memories:

Very Cool DG !!!!

Thanks for sharing. I would kill to have country like that to hunt regularly.
The second kick from a mule is of very little educational value - from Wing and Shot.

Really cool pictures, you are talented.

I always wondered when I saw pictures like that. Is that private land or public land? I see mountains and hills and valleys but no real development on it. Does someone own that property or is it the state? You don't see anything like that in Missouri, you can't go 100 yards without seeing a house for the most part and where it is open is vast expanses of crops.

Splendid photos!!! Quick question. I'm a newbie and noticed that some of the dogs in the photos had 3+ collars on and was just wondering what they all are? E-Collar, GPS, and a normal collar? Once again great photos!

Thanks all!! I enjoy puttin' those together at the end of the year and relivin' the fun times.

As far as the country we hunted, it's just a mix of public and private lands. We are lucky to have a lot of country but unfortunately the birds just don't fill it up, especially these last few years - there is a lot of time and miles that go into finding those buggars over the years and a person can't be afraid of gettin' skunked tryin' somewhere new. Scoots went 34 miles one trip before we found a covey of birds!!

Pics were with a Sony A700 DSLR, Panasonic Lumix LX 3 point and shoot, and a couple "gotchas" from the LG camera phone!

On my dogs I typically run three collars - the e-collar, the GPS collar, and a telemetry collar. My buddy also usually has an ID collar but I have ID plates on my e-collars and tele collars.

Thanks again, about time to start the countdown to next season!!

Great video, Doug - loved the collection. Your AZ Mearns video was beautiful, too, as well as your flyfishing vid. BTW, was she wearing anything under those waders?
