More Mearns pics to enjoy.....

Got to head out for a couple of more trips out to the grass and oaks and chase a few coveys. First day, I took a friend from Flagstaff whos been wanting to go for the last few years.. We moved 7 coveys in about 4 hrs. Not a bad day.
The next day, myself and a couple of good friends headed out to check some different country that isn't too far away from where I was hunting the day before. I decided to give these birds a chance and hunt with my 1923 Elsie Smith SxS chambered in .410. They still didn't have a chance!! This little gun was MADE to hunt Mearns.. She needs a little beautie work done, but still works and handles like a dream! We got into a mess of birds on this day as well...

All in all, a GREAT weekend of hunting with good friends, good dogs, and good guns. I love this time of year..
