2009 Season

Post by texscala » Mon Feb 08, 2010 1:53 pm

Well Saturday my season ended (I am not dumb enough to go out on Valentine's weekend). Looking back it was a great one. Things started off good and only got better until early Dec when things got hectic and crazy. Arrow and I would only get out 2 times in the last 2 months of the season and I while she did great I missed the opportunities to end the season woth a bird.

Pictures followed the same path. Early season I really liked the shot I was taking and by the end they were less than stellar. Hopefully I can get back out without the gun and get some great pics for the album.

Here is a little slide show recap of our adventures.

Thanks Doug. I was really pleased with the fall shots I took with your camera. I was afraid to take it on most of my hunts.....that might be why they did not turn out as good as I would have liked.

Texs,
Tom I have never talked with you before, but I really liked your hunting Video, great stuff. If I ever own a Brit it will be a Frenchie, real nice hunting dog!

Glad you guys enjoyed it. I had a great year and was sad to have to sit out 2 months of the season as my dog really had an unbelievable year and I actually made a few shots.

Here is a video from 2 scouting trips around this time last year.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YKeLzfps3g

the area where the pup is running in the hills and the one where she is standing on point is about a mile apart and after finding so many birds in the spring we hit it up in the middle of the season and took our first limit of chukar :D . In a lot of ways what we found in this video produced what happened in the first one. Hoping to get out and get my pup on some chukar and grouse this weekend and take some pics.
