First bird

This is my new prospects first bird. Bella has so much natural ability and so much point in her she is exceling at a very fast pace. I cant begin to describe all that went in to getting her first bird killed over her but it all went as planned and I am one proud dog owner.

Here she is in training pointing a pigeon with extremely poor scenting conditons.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

Hey casper nice dog,

I didn't know it at the time but I appear to have stolen your dogs name, as our new pup is called bella.

Oh well at least the long name is different I am sure.

Thanks all it is a very memorable moment I cant seem to get it out of my head how perfect it was. I even had time to snap a few pics but left the camera in the pickup so I would have one less distraction. I was even amazed that I actualy hit this bird because I was shooting a 4.10. My first time ever shooting one so I was doubting my self the whole time.

Rob, I didnt exactly name the dog the guy I bought her from had already given a name and I just stuck with it. I call her Bella Boo.

Hopefully I will have some better opportunities at this last trip since the season is coming to a close. This weekend will be our last time to hunt chukar till October.

CC I am game for a Grouse hunt. Count me in  8)

In my truck, over the drivers visor you will find the 2 longest tailfeathers from my pups first bird (pheasant) I always do this, now I have a vase full :) I usually train one pup a year.

This years pup did a record (for me) 5 roosters in 2.5 hours on her third day of hunting. My cousins boy got his first ever limit on pheas. I was glad to be a part of it, my dog was too :) next year she will hopefully hunt better as now when the birds run, so does she. I have a collar on her that buzzs and vibrates but no shock. She is now used to this and it doesnt stop her in the heat of the chase :( but she will grow out of this as she gains expirience hunting.

Last Friday, got out to hunt one field, my older dogs locked up on point, the 9 month was runing a rabbit again, I put up 6 quail, 2 fell to my shot, one dog on each quail and retrieve to my hand, me? very happy cept fer that rabbit chaser :) she will be broke of that by next year tho.
