FourTrax,
Real nice pictures and a real nice hunt, how do you like your GPS dog tracking equipment, are they working correctly for you. Most of the Grouse hunters
I work with, have returned them cause they are loosing signal in the Grouse woods here in Potter/Tioga, was hoping yours was more reliable. Even Lynn Dee who was down from VT during opening week had trouble with her new model. They seem to work out west pretty well but have big trouble here in the Pa mountians. Victor looks like he has 20 lbs of electronics to carry thru the woods with him, poor guy.

If Victor did not have an e-collar on He would be off hunting by himself.
I use the Garmin Astro to locate him if he is pointing. I am hearing impaired & cannot hear even a loud beeper
more thn about 50 yards away. I think they also spook the grouse into more running.
I als cannot hear the Point alarm on the astro. When I notice victor is busy I watch the screen alot.
The Frequency is too high for me to pick up. I have extensive hearing loss to higher frequencies above 3500 Hz.
Victor does not need much stimulation. Collar also beeps & vibrates. He absolutely does need to know that I have the control over him!
Usually all he needs is a short vibration to "comeback" or check in.
I also like this system because I can get there attention & cast them or whatever almost completely silent.
No whistles, no yelling, etc.

fourtrax,
Having a deaf daughter I can appreciate your problems especially in the field, looks like you have over come any hunting set backs due to your hearing problem.
Beautiful dog and Grouse for sure.
