The season in retrospect...

Post by crittercontrol » Tue Feb 21, 2006 9:56 pm

Sakes alive, we were a bunch of bird chasin’ fools this season.

Gur went from a bird flushin’ goofball to a chukar wise, solid pointing machine; (well mostly... :) ) we tried to hunt most of Utah’s upland game species, some with more success than others.

We started the year off with a few well-earned dove hunts

Then off to the sage plains for the largest North American grouse. Gur is saying, “Retrieve this?”

Then we were off chasing Chukar...running little buggers.

And managed to bag the Ruff while “elk hunting”

Even tried for some Utah ptarmigan...no luck, but spectacular scenery! They assure me they are up there... :?:

The off for Huns, my favorite of gamebirds

We rounded the season out with some waterfowl hunts

With a pheasant trip or two thrown in for good measure

Had some great times this season with some great dogs and great hunting partners. Hats off to a wonderful 2005.

Now let’s see some pics of your season in retrospect...

Always,

Awesome pics. Looks like you had a very good season. Was extremely slow around here. Hunted a lot and found very few birds. The last horah is this weekend. Would be nice to make up for a dismal season here at the end.
