A really good ending to a great season.

Well it looks like today was the last day I will get to chase my favorite bird. I have been very lucky this year and found a mess of birds.

The dog work today was excellent and maybe the best of the season. Most of the points today were hens, we had 17 productive points today in about 3 hours of hunting, we did manage points on three of these cocks. We also found some quail and managed points on two covies, though we rarely shoot more than one or two... we try to save them to work dogs on.



Though it looks like this was it for pheasants, I do have a date with some ducks this weekend.

Thanks Dave she is 8 years old now and her name is Grace and she is dads favorite. She is a pretty fair dog not a world beater but nice and honest, makes very few mistakes and rarely costs you a bird.

Very awesome coop. Nice ending for sure! Wish I still had my Dad around to hunt with. Never take a day afield with him for granted.
