Forestry clearing.
Over to the left of this photo along a creekbed we came across a covey of quail hiding in the bushes. The dogs were jumping up on hinglegs looking into the tops of the bushes but the quail would not fly out. I ended up crawling around underneath shaking the bushes to get the quail to flush so my hunting partner could shoot at them. Many he couldn't see fly out at all, got 3 I think. Jive found one that had floated down the creek, she didn't think much of a soggy wet quail retrieve.

It's not how many breaths you have taken but how many times it has been taken away!

Has anyone noticed common sense isn't very common anymore.

Not many of the dogs at work as the little digital has a delayed shutter speed for some reason which lends itself to still pic's only.

Run off from the Argyle dam. We hunt right side all the way along the river flats.

I live in the Sth Island, it has a wide range of terrain in a small but hilly & mountainous area. On the west coast and way down south there are lots of ducks.
West Coast is very damp and swampy, housing is cheap if you live for duck shooting, and pigs & deer and don't mind rain and mud :P
And few jobs.

Me, I like to dry out in the summertime.
