I have seen Does with Antlers they had a permamnt velvet though the couple I have cleaned over the years doing Texas deer hunts

Here is an interesting article that explains a bit more

http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/volunteer/ma ... ndoes.html
Deer that appear to be does with polished antlers are almost always reproductively malformed males, which will have a second testosterone surge that causes the antler velvet to shed. Postmortem research on these deer shows most are cryptorchids, hermaphrodites with male organs predominant, or pseudohermaphrodites (animals with external female genitalia but internal male reproductive organs). Because its antlers were large and polished, Tom Schneider's 13-point deer likely was a pseudohermaphrodite.

You can tell by the eye lashes... they look feminine

Check out something called a cactus buck. It's when the testicles are sagged or ripped off when the Buck is starting to grow or has not finished growing the alters that year. They will continue to grow because the testosterone levels did not raise and the buck didn't start rubbing it off / didn't cut off the blood supply to the velvet. The alters will grow the entire life and you will not find testicles which would make you think its a doe.

As for the deers member, could be an Asian strain...

Not to be picky but I think there may be another true tale sign of it being a doe.

I met a truck driver from PA that told me he used to carry a set of antlers with him with threaded screws in the butts of them. He would kill a doe during buck season, then screw the antlers into the skull to make the doe look like a buck. Idiot. Do you think anyone tried to unscrew the antlers off the 30 pointer?
