Hunting trip with some gundogforum buddies!

Post by Elkhunter » Sun Jan 29, 2012 12:14 pm

CodyM and his brother came up to do a little chukar hunting with me, the pressure was intense on me to get them on some birds! I sorta failed.... We hunted some great spots, saw tons of tracks but could not get anything pointed. We ended up jumping a few that were on the downwind side of the dogs and had to get some revenge. Cody sure has some nice dogs, handled the chukar terrain like seasoned pros. The wind was just not cooperating at all, blowing the wrong way or just no breeze at all. It was still a lot of fun though and I am glad they came up!

How many days did you guys hunt? I have spoke to Cody quite a bit and he is a great guy as I'm sure your are.

They were here for two and a half days, we hunted just Saturday. It was tough, had some nasty storms all week so some spots they could not get to and I think it scattered the birds a bit.

Thanks again Josh we had a good time. Josh is one class guy not to mention he's a freakin mountain goat!! He has some awesome dogs and sure knows his country. I find myself wishing I was back on those mountains watching the dogs roll, what a awesome bird. Beautiful country, nice dogs, and good friends makes for a great trip. Thanks again.

Elkhunter, you know the Devil bird does not live in the land of milk and honey? Just checkin. Don't want you to lead the guys astray. Dan

Ha, from a biblical standpoint no! But I refer to a special place of mine as the "land of milk and honey"! :D
