Preserve Hunt this Weekend

Post by tnbndr » Mon Feb 27, 2012 5:48 am

Booked a pheasant hunt this Saturday. Turned out to be the coldest day of the winter (so far) and the most snow on the ground. Took daughter on her first ever bird hunt. She has shot clays with me before but this year expressed interest in trying bird hunting. A friend and his daughter also went along. The girls shot all but one of the birds. I did not even carry a gun, just worked the dogs and watched for safe gun handling.

Wild Wings, small field by Chads with the pond and windmill aerator. Not much cover but I did not want to make the girls walk forever on their first hunt. We only had to cover parts of the field to find the birds.

Sounds and look slike you had a great time. Jealous that you were able to get out!
