Western Kansas
I want to go to Western Kansas for the first time on opening morning. Can not decide where to go. I have been looking at the Crow Counts and Graham County has the highest, but still not sure. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Huh, did my post get deleted? I posted yesterday about how you might not want to go to western Kansas. The birds were hurting last year and this year is going to be quite bad due to the drought and already low bird numbers, it is going to take a while for the numbers to get back up, better to save what is there for stock.

Numbers are low. I live in NW Kansas in Thomas County. Its not too bad though, last year I didn't have any problems when I went out finding an abundance of birds. I don't see as many on the sides of the roads as I did last year but I walked a couple of fields last week and jumped up quite a few.

No quail, all pheasant. I've only seen a few quail where I'm at in the last two years. NW is not a quail spot by any means!
