1st bird for thepup

Post by Bberry20 » Mon Sep 10, 2012 5:24 am

Went out for the grouse opener this weekend and put on a lot of miles. The pup did great and got his first wild bird in the bag. Pointed, steady to flush, and retrieved to hand. Not too bad for a 6 month pup. Pretty proud of my little guy.

Yeah it is a really good feeling. This is my first bird dog that i have trained by myself. It is nice to see the work in the off season paying off and will only get better and the season progresses.

I love the pic, and the look on the dogs face waiting to see if you drop the bird or not.
