Montana, bird work Videos

Post by SetterNut » Sun Oct 28, 2012 10:08 am

We posted these on some other sites, but here are some videos from my buddy Josh and my trip to Montana.
It was a great trip. We got Pheasants, Huns, Sharptail and Sage Grouse shot over point.

Here is a covey of huns.

Sage grouse. My two dogs are backing, and Josh's scout is pointing the bird

This is my pup Indy on a Sharptail. He had been awesome the whole trip, but a little before this video was shot, we got into a bunch of birds. Indy kind of went off the deep end and blew a bunch of them out. But he regained his composure.

And here is a rooster that wasn't pointed but the only one I got on camera.

It was a great trip. The dogs got a lot of good birds work and exposure, and everyone got through the trip without any real injures.

Where did you guy's go up there? I lived near Kalispell for several years and in Missoula another year but never went east to hunt. How much trouble to find areas you can hunt? One of these days I have to do that. Looks like country my worn out knees can do. And I love Huns!
I pity the man that has never been loved by a dog!

Beautiful stuff all around. I gotta say...I love setters. I'm partial of course but how can you beat that? Great country. Thanks for the stoking the fire even more.

Sure am. I don't know how the bird numbers are going to be, but just getting out with the dogs is going to be great.
Supsect that on total it will be a little bit of a tough season with the drought, but I hope it is better than last season.

But in the end it doesn't matter, the dogs and I are going hunting :D
