First gun dog, did I get a good one?

Love my gsp "cooper". Highly energetic and intelligent. Learns anything I can throw at him at an unbelievable rate, although I don't know that much other than what I've picked up out of books and the web. Loves the water and is proving to be an excellent waterfowl companion. Here he is at 7 months doing a little training in the north Florida pines

And here is his first water fowl retrieve, it was awesome to watch. He handled 12 ducks in 2 hunts and I didn't have to wade out to retrieve my own ducks. Very nice change of pace haha!

Good looking dog, the Shorthair are very smart dogs. I have trained several dogs but the Shorthair really stands out. I also have a 7 month old and I am using him on quail and chucker. He is a great pointer, retriever, and loves to locate down birds. I could't be happier with my choice of breed. Good luck on your training, looks like your dog is coming along fine.

Great looking pup. And a good choice in my book. :D
Keep up with his training and have fun. Nothing like a new pup to play with. Lot better then getting your ducks yourself lol.

Congrats on your new pup!

Cant go wrong with a GSP, and by the looks of the work the dog is doing already, you cant go wrong with a dog that really wants to learn, so you are a winner in both areas!

Thanks guys I am really enjoying him! I've had him since he was 8 weeks and loved every minute of it although my wife may feel differently:lol:. He is making an awesome retriever and we start on his upland training just as soon as we get back from our goose hunt in NC next week. Will try and post some pics when I get back.
