They are so darn hard to hit

Post by Elkhunter » Wed Dec 05, 2012 2:32 pm

Hit the hills with a friend this morning, had some fun. Great morning, perfect conditions and some decent company...

Sadie, pretty lucky to have this little gal. Was on fire today.

His first year dog Roo (spell it right)? Good lookin hound, very impressive for her first year!

I have never been known to be a good shot, we were talkin how nice it would be to get a find on the way back to the truck. Well we got one... Missed all 3 shots. You can see Sadie's liver head on the far edge of the screen.

I'm slow on the draw and not a great shot because all my bird hunting has been with falcons, not wingshooting. But, it's always worth getting the dogs out and seeing some points. I hope to improve my shooting just to get to where you're at Josh in the next couple years.

Take up skeet or sporting clay shooting it will help you more than you can imagine.

I hear you! I went out this past weekend and let's just say I was ecstatic when I finally dropped one. I won't even mention the number of quail that I missed... But the dog work was great so all-in-all I am happy.
Peace, it's what's for dinner!

Do they do it on vertical slopes covered in shale rocks in the snow? In a stiff breeze? :D

If you buy your own thrower you can set up shots as you please, you will have to have a helper.
