A Winter Wonderland-Part Duece

Post by Elkhunter » Fri Dec 21, 2012 6:55 pm

Snuck out of work to go explore the white unkown! And foolishly took a white dog for a stroll in the snow!

First find, Woody went off the radar on the Garmin so I hiked to the top and it said he was on point A LONG ways away. So I started the trek, and I hate it when ya gotta give up elevation! Suckers were halfway down the mtn on the other side.

Second find of the day, luckily the same elevation! Gotta love a considerate dog like that!

Been shootin fairly decent this year! As I found him, since Woody and I dont really see eye to eye on the whole retrieving game I had to play retriever.

Beautiful birds I think, love em.
Image
20 degrees and blowing, he was waiting for me when I got there! Dont think he is a huge fan of wind and cold! And either was I, wife says I am crazy.

TT collar and his regular dog collar.

Thanks for the compliments! Sometimes I care more about a good picture than I do shooting a bird. :D

Nice cool morning for a hike! So had to give it a go.

Little gal ran off towards a saddle, we were searching for a buddies dog for about 10 minutes then I went looking for her. And heard the always lovely "Beep" of the Garmin. She was a ways off so I headed over there.

Found her standin.

Love how her ears are always flapped over when she is on point!

Kinda steep, gotta love a retrieve!

Her prize, I love this little dog.

Those are some nice pictures you got. I think chukar are pretty birds and i think the amount of effort required to bag one makes them even more pretty. Your dogs sure got it going on.
Peace, it's what's for dinner!
