South West Georgia

Post by lvrgsp » Sun Dec 23, 2012 4:44 pm

Spent the last week chasing quail around with Rich Barber of Outbak kennels in southwest Georgia.
Had a great time with Rich and Joyce, we got into tons of birds, messed with puppies learned alot from him.
Just good people who really know and work the dogs.
The grounds are amazing, a little bit of everything from open cover to piney woods to heavy brush and briars, and Rich takes em through it all, makes em handle, and gets them into birds, the dogs love it and it sure shows.
I tell ya what folks if you have a dog that is just needing tuned up, field trialed, brag hunting dog, man buddy this is not the trip to skip on, lots of birds and lots of work for em in a great environment, it's warm and there's tons of birds.

When you can get a dog into a covey of 10-20 birds that are literally exploding up around em, multiple times, and a trainer that works as hard as Rich does brother if that doesn't make a bird dog I'm not sure what will.

Oh and puppies/young dogs perfect place for them, they get ALOT of attention as well everyday.

Here are a few pics of what we did this past week.
Thanks and Enjoy,
Chip

Wild and pre released established covies.....
Birds were not planted for the puppies either. They had to find them.
And I can say the pups Rich has out of the Guy litter are flat getting it done.
Anybody wanting a class little bird dog pup boy are these gonna Be the ticket. Everyone of them are birdogs. A few very strong trial candidates as well

Hey Jerry,

The last pic I just put up is Jill, it was the only time we have a picture of her. I was to busy watching her tear it up...

The 4th pic down is a client pup. He is a wirehair and a "bleep" fine one at that. I think he is 5 months or so old, and a pointing, hunting cool little dude..

The little liver roan male pup is one of his current litter pups.

All of the other pictures are dogs out of his breedings.
