Grouse/Appalachian Mountains

Has anyone ever hunted grouse in east TN, N.C. GA in the Appalachian Mountains? I've seen two diiferent articles about the grouse hunting in the area. I know it's not the same as up north but I may give it a try in the south this year.

I did some grouse hunting at Cohutta last year in north GA. Had a couple of points but no birds. The further north you go the better it gets...I have heard Tn is much better than Ga.

I live in east Tn and I hunted 40 days here last year, I can say there is birds here but be ready to use the boot leather.
