Sharpie Opener

Post by DGFavor » Sun Oct 01, 2006 10:02 pm

Big day today with the sharpie opener. Sharptailhunter and I hit it hard and found lots of birds but man were they tough for opening day birds. We had lots of points but just couldn't get close for decent shots like you might expect for this time of year. We managed to get a few in the bag but worked for 'em. Glad we were horseback. Wanted to get some good pics but darn camera is goofed up...managed this one of Smoke on point, Trixie backing.

Screwy birds anyway... guess that's why we love to hunt em. I had a good time. Here's a picture of an ugly dude and his tired dogs.

Dang, that is beautiful country! Was it windy? That is usually what makes the birds spooky for us.

Alex, console yourself with the fact that at least the dogs are pretty. :D

Wow, what a fast reply, that means they like me more than you Doug... ya pansy!

John, no it wasn't windy at all. In fact, around lunch we had zilch for senting conditions... hot, dry, and calm. Of course, today it is cold, wet and windy. Welcome to Idaho!

I actually believe that you should have me out for 2 weeks of taking pictures of your dog on point somewhere out in the wild blue yonder.

What a sight for a point and a back!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Best of Luck and hope ya have a great year.
