What are some forms of the truth and excuses you all have used or heard? For example

Form of the truth:
I shot my limit (With that being said there is still plenty of feathered friends flying around with shot in their feathers).
Excuse:
The wind was blowing too hard.
The wind wasn't blowing enough.
It's too hot.
The phase of the moon is killing me.

I know these can be legit but they are also ways for us to explain why we came home empty handed or without our limit.

Gee, I never try for a limit. I am happy if I get the dogs on a few birds but shooting a limit is something I seldom ever try for. I want some for tomorrow.

Can't think of anything else.

My excuse is that I can't shoot worth a "bleep" and I can't be bothered to learn lol. Or I just blame it on the dogs haha.

Excuse for a miss?....I ate too much red cabbage at the restaurant last night.

Nothing wrong with a limit or try for a limit if the resource can absorb the hunter additivity.

I was just out to educate the birds to stay away from those mean old hunters and their dogs so I just intentionally missed.
