Re: Iowa pheasant
My cousin lives near Jasper County. He went to Neal Smith once or twice this year, and thought it a disappointment. He heard similar reports from others. I know of some success up in Wright County. Sorry, don't know much about SW IA. Happy hunting-

I live in East Central Iowa and am seeing some birds.....but you definitely have to work for them. Good Luck!

Re: Iowa pheasant
It sounds cliche, but where there's habitat, there's birds. I hunt private land and have seen plenty of birds, majority of them being hens.

There are NO birds in Iowa, stay home!
You just need to go out and look. Cant find them on the net.

Re: Iowa pheasant
I'm jealous. I had the opportunity to hunt Iowa for a couple days last year and was pleasantly surprised by the number of birds given all the reports of dwindling pheasant populations. It must've been a pigeon shoot 15 years ago.
