A prairie pheasant hunt w/pics

Post by crittercontrol » Sun Nov 05, 2006 7:26 pm

For the first time in years I missed the Utah pheasant opener. But I did it in good form.

A fellow forum member and friend persuaded me into going on a prairie odyssey (kicking and screaming of course! ) It’s been a week, I’m plum tuckered out (so is Jonesy) but we had a riot. The birds were plentiful; Pheasant, Huns, and Shapies all met us on the battle field.

Mother Nature socked it to us the first day... 20°, 30 mph winds and blowing snow.

But we're tenacious, so out in the storm we went.

Glad I grew my winter coat....

The next day, however, was bluebird.

And plum thick with sharpies

We managed limits of nice “track star” roosters nearly every day.

We’re not the only ones with swans.

The previous day’s storm brought with it some vacationers...lots of ‘em!
