Grouse season opened up here today. so in about a half-hour we'll be headed out :)

Couple more weeks until hunting season opens up here, but that isn't stopping me from working dogs on them. I was out yesterday and we found a bunch of them.

We just did some "laid back" hunting this morning and got one big Blue (over 3.5 lbs) one "mountain" Dove. Mountain doves are mourning doves that live in the high mountains -- but because of their diet, they have a better flavor.
Also got two Snowshoe Hares.... Nami is going to make Rabbit Stew with them.

We put up over a dozen Ruffs, but the foliage is still so thick that I couldn't get off a clean shot -- so I didn't shoot.
